LOVATO Electric has inaugurated a cutting-edge department at its Bergamo headquarters to enhance the production of electronic boards using Surface Mount Technology (SMT). This marks a significant advancement in LOVATO Electric's capabilities in designing and producing electronic devices.

The focus on electronics has become critical for the company, especially in areas like machinery automation, e-mobility, and photovoltaics, evolving from their initial 1976 product, the star-delta timer.

Enhancing the Electronic Production Process

The facility includes two smart warehouses capable of storing over 2,500 coils

The newly established department aims to deliver multiple benefits to the company's clientele by significantly improving electronic production. This facility promises meticulous optimization of manufacturing processes, leading to better product quality and shorter delivery times.

Spanning an Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA) of 300 square meters, the facility includes two smart warehouses capable of storing over 2,500 coils. A static warehouse with humidity control is designated for PCB and sensitive components.

The assembly line features Pick & Place Fuji technology along with 3D inspection machines for both solder paste and post-reflow board inspection.

Advanced Testing and Personnel Expansion

Additionally, the department boasts an ICT (in-circuit test) station equipped with six movable probes and a comprehensive system for electronic component traceability. To support this development, LOVATO Electric has recruited new qualified staff.

According to Massimiliano Cacciavillani, CEO of LOVATO Electric, “Our Gorle headquarters is becoming increasingly a center of technology. Our goal is to further increase the company’s innovation capacity and be quick and responsive to meet customer needs.
