Scolmore is pleased to announce the appointment of Martyn Walley to the newly created position of Group Technical Manager. A well-known name within the industry, Martyn comes to Scolmore following a four-year term with Aico.

Martyn's experience

He brings a wealth of technical experience and knowledge garnered over a career spanning 29 years, which began with an apprenticeship with the Midlands Electricity Board and has included roles with several leading organizations in the electrical, fire, and security sectors, including ADT Fire & Security, Group 4 Technology and UTC Technologies.

In addition, he has considerable experience operating as a project manager on several high-profile contracts and has worked closely with M&E contractors, HMRC, and Local Authorities, with responsibility for projects ranging from £40,000 to £7 million.

Responsibility

He will take responsibility for the development and implementation, offer technical support for all product ranges

He will take overall responsibility for the development and implementation of a complete offer of technical support for all product ranges across the group portfolio of Scolmore, ESP, Unicrimp, and the recently acquired Sangamo.

This will cover new product development, compliance with regulatory requirements, technical feedback on market requirements, and the development of comprehensive training manuals for both staff and customer requirements.

Creating opportunities 

With his vast experience and knowledge of standards and regulations and his membership in several trade bodies, Martyn will help provide Scolmore with an authoritative voice in the industry at a time when technology continues to create opportunities and at the same time the tightening of safety regulations is putting the spotlight on the products being specified for the construction sector.
