The Smart Energy Demonstration Project (Phase I) in Minhang Industrial Zone announced its test run on May 18, the last sprint for its commercialized operation. This is the first industrial engineering of its kind after Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group wrapped up with the ‘Internet+’ smart energy project in Sanxing Town, Chongming.
The project involves distributed power generation and storage devices, wind & solar energy storage and charging piles, and an integrated smart energy management platform. It aims to build smart and green energy engineering with a low carbon footprint in the industrial park.
Renewable energy utilization
The project was brought under comprehensive supervision and inspection beginning from May 14. In response to rectification requirements by the constructors and supervisors, the general contractor Shanghai Electric Power Generation Engineering Co., Ltd. has overcome difficulties amidst the epidemic outbreak and put all tasks fully into effect. The project was finally approved for launch.
The project located inside the Shanghai Electric Machinery Plant was initiated on September 25, 2019, with joint investment by State Grid Shanghai Integrated Energy Service Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. Upon completion, it can save energy and boost efficiency through renewable energy utilization, peak-load shifting, and demand control.
