The Republic of Cabo Verde has joined the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), becoming the 171st Member State of the organization.

By Article 35 of the 1928 Paris Convention relating to International Exhibitions, the Government of the Republic of Cabo Verde submitted the instruments for accession to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 5 October 2022.

France, as the depository for the Convention notified the Secretariat of the BIE that Cabo Verde has adhered to the Convention. Cabo Verde is, therefore, the 171st Member State of the Organisation, effective as of 5 October.

Cabo Verde participates regularly in World and Specialised Expos, most recently having participated in World Expo 2020 Dubai with a pavilion located in the Mobility District and themed 'A country on the move, bridging four continents'.
