Electrical contractor Canyon State Electric (CSE) made a notable contribution to the American Heart Association's (AHA) 2024 Phoenix Heart Walk by raising over $15,000 and having nearly forty participants join the event. This marks CSE's third consecutive year participating in the walk, with the company's total donations to the nonprofit surpassing $55,000.
The commitment to the AHA began for Canyon State Electric in 2021 after the unexpected passing of its founder, Steven Maderazzo, due to an aortic dissection.
"It was a shock to everyone," expressed Stephanie Maderazzo-Hughes, Steven Maderazzo's daughter and CEO of Canyon State Electric, adding "He is dearly missed by his coworkers, friends, and family. Our participation in the Phoenix Heart Walk allows us to honor his memory and positively impact the Phoenix community."

Vince DiGuglielmo, the Marketing and Communications Manager for Canyon State Electric, was part of the 2024 Phoenix Heart Walk Executive Leadership Team.
He noted, "The American Heart Association’s mission mirrors our values as a company: to better the lives of those around us. The Heart Walk is one of the many ways Canyon State Electric acts on that commitment."

Recognizing Lifestyle Changes
In collaboration with the American Heart Association, Canyon State Electric annually presents the Steven Maderazzo Lifestyle Change Award during the AHA's Phoenix at Heart Executive Breakfast.
This award honors construction workers who have made significant lifestyle changes to improve their health. Nominations for this award will be open in the summer.
