Canyon State Electric (CSE) has successfully concluded its annual LEGO Drive, delivering 319 LEGO sets to Phoenix Children’s Hospital last week. This marks a record-setting year for the initiative, which has been running for four years.
Honoring a Legacy with Generosity
The LEGO Drive was launched in 2021 as a tribute to Steve Maderazzo, the founder of CSE, known for his passion for building with LEGO bricks. His legacy continues as the CSE team donates LEGO sets to children every December, honoring him by giving back to those in need.
CEO Stephanie Maderazzo-Hughes expressed, “The LEGO Drive lets us honor our past while giving children hope for the future. I’m inspired every year by the way our CSE team and industry partners show overwhelming support and generosity.”
Supporting Children During Inpatient Care
All LEGO sets collected throughout November and December were donated to children receiving inpatient treatment at Phoenix Children’s. This initiative not only brings smiles to young patients but also relieves stress by offering a constructive outlet.

Surpassing Fundraising Goals
The drive exceeded its fundraising target of 300 LEGO sets, thanks to contributions from partners such as Billd, Enterprise Electric, Hensel Phelps, and Marsh McClennan. This achievement further enhances the Toyland program, allowing parents to select toys at no cost, ensuring each child at Phoenix Children’s receives a suitable gift.
