SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025, the world-renowned trade fair for welding technologies, opens in Essen, and Comau is showcasing its latest innovations for the sector.
At its booth (C27, Hall 2), the company is presenting an integrated portfolio of solutions ranging from mobile robotics for welding in unstructured environments—such as shipbuilding—to next-generation welding guns, collaborative robots, wearable robotics, and advanced training systems.
Key innovations on display
MyCo cobots are engineered for joint applications like pick & place and palletizing
Among the key innovations on display is the new arc welding cell built around the S-Series robot, shown here in its 18 kg payload version (S-18). Designed to meet the needs of general industry, it delivers high performance, repeatability, and precision, making it ideal even for space-constrained environments.
Following its successful debut at Automatica in June 2025, the MyCo family of collaborative robots is also on show in Essen.
With payloads ranging from 3 to 15 kg, MyCo cobots are engineered for collaborative applications such as pick & place, palletizing, and arc welding. They ensure seamless human-machine interaction and offer maximum operational flexibility.
Comau’s new N-WG welding gun
Also launched at Automatica, Comau’s new N-WG welding gun is a patented modular system that stands out for its high performance and fast reconfiguration between X and C versions.
It has been developed to deliver maximum flexibility and address the real-world demands of modern manufacturing. Fully compatible with all major robot brands, it sets a new benchmark in spot welding by combining enhanced performance, sustainability, and cost efficiency.

MR4Weld assures a superior weld rate, minimizes ergonomic risks for operators, and alters the process
In the field of mobile robotics, Comau is presenting MR4Weld, developed in collaboration with the Italian company Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups.
This autonomous robot is designed for welding inside ship modules and blocks. MR4Weld ensures superior weld quality, minimizes ergonomic risks for operators, and transforms the shipbuilding process with greater flexibility, enhanced safety, and substantial cost savings.
Comau’s advanced training solutions
Complementing the offering are Comau’s advanced training solutions, such as the integrated e.DO Soldamatic system. Combining educational robotics with augmented reality, it enables effective welding training without the costs or safety issues associated with traditional alternatives.
Also on display are the MATE-XT and MATE-XB wearable exoskeletons—presented in collaboration with Schmalz—that are designed to reduce muscle fatigue during physically demanding and repetitive tasks.
