The International Energy Agency Ministers convened for a discussion on global energy security and clean energy deployment.
It condemns, in the strongest possible terms, Russia’s unlawful invasion of Ukraine, which has destroyed lives and upended peace and security in Europe.

Russia’s invasion threatens global energy security and democratic principles. Russia’s actions, including its use of energy as a weapon, threaten the rules-based international order that has prevailed since the end of the Second World War.
Energy should never be used as a means of political coercion or to threaten national security. IEA demand that Russia immediately cease its military aggression, withdraw its troops from the entire territory of Ukraine, and fully respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.
