In the local districts of the unified municipality of Morbach, the energy service provider and infrastructure provider - Westenergie has completed the modernization of the lanterns of the entire street lighting.
New and environmentally friendly LED lights in the 1,960 street lamps now provide efficient and energy-saving lighting in the streets. Mayor Andreas Hackethal and other employees from the administration and Westenergie got an idea of the new lighting technology on site.
Longer-lasting LED technology
"With the new, longer-lasting LED technology, we are not only easing the burden on the municipality's budget, we are also protecting the environment. This is another contribution by the municipality of Morbach to climate protection. In addition, the modernization ensures better lighting of the streets in the local districts," emphasized Andreas Hackethal, Mayor of the municipality of Morbach.
Marco Felten, Head of the Trier Region at Westenergie, added: "We are pleased that we can contribute to improving the infrastructure in the local districts of the municipality of Morbach. The new street lighting also improves safety thanks to the optimized lighting quality."
