On October 29, 2021, after more than 50 hours of continuous test, the DC de-icing equipment of 500kV Tianxing intelligent substation successfully completed the current raising operation with the line.
NR has added another high-capacity DC de-icier in China Southern Power Grid.
500kV Tianxing Substation
Tianxing substation is the second 500kV smart station of Yunnan power grid. It was put into operation in July 2021. The rated capacity of the de-icing equipment is 103MW and the rated output DC current is 5000A, which can meet the DC de-icing requirements of 500kV Tianxi line A and B.

After two days and two nights of live test, the 5000A short-circuit current rise of the de-icing system was realized without abnormality, and the current rise of the de-icing system with 500kV line conductor and ground wire was realized.

The smooth operation indicates that the DC de-icing of Tianxing substation has the ability of emergency de-icing to protect power supply in winter.
