May's substantial rainfall has left the ground extremely saturated, which increases the likelihood of trees falling and causing additional outages, even in lower wind conditions. SWEPCO advises customers throughout its three-state service area—Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas—to stay alert to changing weather conditions.

For Louisiana, power restoration is anticipated by 10 p.m. Sunday in Hornbeck and Natchitoches areas, while the Mansfield area is expected to see restoration by 4 p.m. Monday. In Texas, the Henderson and Kilgore areas may have power restored by 10 p.m. Sunday.
Post-Storm Safety Precautions
Safety remains a top priority for SWEPCO. Residents are advised to steer clear of downed power lines and any objects in contact with them.
Hazards should be reported to 911 or directly to SWEPCO at (888) 218-3919. When dealing with storm debris, exercise caution as it can hide fallen wires. Residents should not attempt to clear debris or branches within 10 feet of a live power line and should follow the manufacturer's instructions when using generators.
