After powerful storms swept through the ArkLaTex region, impacting numerous customers, restoration efforts have reached 95% completion. Taking advantage of recent clear and sunny weather, SWEPCO crews, along with 1,323 additional storm responders, have been working tirelessly to restore power. The severe weather brought significant challenges, including three EF1 tornadoes and hurricane-strength winds and rain.
Challenges in Restoration
While the majority of customers have had their power restored, some outages persist, particularly in areas with difficult-to-reach and treacherous terrain. These remaining issues involve complex repairs, often requiring more time and meticulous attention. Flooding has further complicated restoration efforts, but safety continues to be the top priority for the crews operating in hazardous conditions.

Customers who have opted into mobile alerts should either have already received or will soon receive specific updates on restoration times for their locations. Those interested can enroll for these alerts or access them through their online SWEPCO accounts. It's important to keep in mind that estimated restoration times are subject to change based on changing weather conditions and unforeseen factors.
For the safety of both workers and the public, customers are advised to steer clear of active work zones, avoid driving through areas marked with flags or cones, and not approach crews while they are on the job.
