New REC30E-Z DC/DCs offer a great combination of power density, performance, and cost with a 30W rating in a package size of just 25.4 x 25.4 x 10mm.

Two wide input ranges are offered 9-36V (50V surge) and 18-75V (100V surge), covering a wide variety of nominals and their tolerances. Fully regulated single and dual outputs are available: 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 25V, ±12V, and +/15VDC.

Rating of the REC30E-Z series

Featuring RECOM’s hallmark advanced circuit and thermal design, the parts peak at over 90% efficiency, allowing them to operate at high ambient temperatures without derating. With airflow or load derating, power output is limited by the maximum case temperature of 105°C. Efficiency curves are largely flat down to around 20% load for low standby losses and no minimum load is required.

A shutdown control is provided to put the devices into a low dissipation state

A shutdown control is provided to put the devices into a low dissipation state and a ±10% output trim pin is featured for single output parts. The isolation rating of the REC30E-Z series is 2kV/1 min and the parts hold safety certifications to IEC/EN 62368-1.

EMC standard EN 55032 class A is met without external components, while class B limits can be achieved with a simple additional filter network. Reliability of parts in the range is typically over 500khrs, according to MIL-HDBK 217F, GB at 25°C.

REC30E-Z range

The through-pin REC30E-Z range is offered in a rugged metal casing for shielding and excellent thermal performance and is encapsulated for use in Pollution Degree 2 harsh environments.

Applications from the products will typically be in industrial markets but they will find use in any product where board space is at a premium and reliable, and high performance is needed at an affordable price.
