As a result of the storms, flash flood warnings persist in parts of the area. By 10:30 a.m., approximately 20,000 SWEPCO customers are experiencing power outages due to the adverse weather conditions.

Damage assessment teams have encountered multiple power-related issues including downed power lines and fallen trees and branches. Crews are prioritizing both safety and efficiency as they work to restore electrical service to affected communities.
The company anticipates providing more specific restoration timelines as the weather clears and full damage evaluations are completed.

The storm impact is particularly severe in Caddo and Desoto parishes in Louisiana, as well as Harrison and Gregg counties in Texas. SWEPCO is committed to providing ongoing updates as assessments continue.
However, predicted severe weather, comprising heavy rain and lightning, may further affect restoration activities by posing risks to lineworkers.
