Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) is extending an invitation to the community to participate in a dual celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day. The festivities will take place at Eagle Watch Nature Trail, a site emblematic of SWEPCO's dedication to environmental conservation. This nature trail provides a sanctuary for diverse wildlife and attracts bird watchers with its noted bald eagle sightings, creating a prime spot for nature enthusiasts.

Participants will engage in planting trees and native pollinator plants, activities aimed at enhancing the trail's beauty while supporting the local ecosystem and wildlife.
"This event is a fantastic opportunity for participants to connect with their community, learn about environmental science, and make a tangible impact on their local environment," stated SWEPCO Environmental & Lab Supervisor Ivaunna Neigler.
Educational Presentation
The day's events will include a presentation by Professor Don Steinkraus from the University of Arkansas. His discussion will emphasize the essential role of pollinating insects and birds in preserving healthy ecosystems. Professor Steinkraus will also address biodiversity's significance and how individuals can take part in environmental conservation. Additionally, local 4-H groups will join SWEPCO to participate in the event's activities, further fostering community involvement and education.
